MORNING HYBRID KEYNOTE PANEL PLENARY

  • P. L. Lattuada M.D., Psy. D., Ph.D

Entheogenic experience is characterized by enormous expansions of consciousness and consequently a huge increase of complexity both in Intensity and amplitude, in- depth and richness. Research shows that any spiritual experience only permanently changes the behavior if it comes with a transformation of mind maps.

This means that outcomes of entheogenic experiences should be followed by integration work. New experiences and exploration of new territories need new maps, experience aways comes with hermeneutics. BTE offers maps, models, and tolls in order to both master enhanced states of consciousness and organize the experience into a new coherent vision of the world. This presentation will offer an essay by exposing maps such as the circuit of the experience, Transe, Organismic triad, Further Mode, Second attention, Integral Transpersonal Thinking, and more.

We’ll focus then on the process of preparation through Essential Transe, Dream Body, Moving in the flow, Medicine circle - Shamanic journey, and Ceremony of Intent. We’ll end by presenting some tools for integration such as Recapitulation, Four dialogic phases, Five maieutic categories, Transe-cognition.

  • This roundtable will blend both psychological and spiritual perspectives in relation to the use, access and promotion of sacred medicine experiences. In a transcultural and transgenerational dialogue, we will share clear and simple understandings towards how the awakening of the ancient memory could play an important role in the evolution of psychological approaches. What does psychodelia means from a traditional cosmovision?

What is medicine? How to translate ancient wisdom into a modern contemporary life? How can memory dialogue with science?

Stewardship in a Time of Exponential (Psychedelic) Growth

  • In this panel a new generation of stewards come together to explore, share and invision an ethical community based future where reciporcity and kind awareness are key qualities of the psychedelic and plant medicines paradigm.

“What can we learn from Indigenous stewardship?’ It does not seek to reduce the labour of earthwork; it is by tending the lands that we come into Right Relation. Indigenous stewardship requires getting more people out on the land. And for us this is a good thing. Earthwork gives our people the opportunity to heal from the traumas of colonialism by engaging the land in ceremony and in community; this is how they pass on their land-based teachings to future generations.

“What does stewardship look like in our lives today?” This question must be asked to evaluate where our mindset is. Stewardship is being responsible for the things that our planet has given us. To help build a framework, we will begin unpacking this idea of stewardship through four important universal principles.

    1. The principle of ownership.

    2. The principle of responsibility

    3. The principle of accountability

    4. The principle of reward.

    Moderator: Natasja Pelgrom

Panel: Daan Keiman, Alexander Beiner, Stefana Bosse, and Jasper Degenaars.

The Effects of Vibration and Spoken Word on Water and the Human Body, and How Entheogenics Increase the Awareness and Effectiveness of this Phenomenon

Experiential Panel Parallel

BOVENKAMER RIGHT UPSTAIRS

11:45 Am- 1:15p m

  • Workshop about the effects of vibration on water and the human body, and how entheogenics increase the awareness and effectiveness of this phenomenon

    Abstract:

The idea that vibration can influence or even create material reality can be found in various cultures and ancient wisdom, and seems to be rediscovered in modern science and revealed during psychedelic experiences.

According to some sources, vibration are referred to as fundamental forces, which enables consciousness to manifest itself into the shape of matter, expressed from sub-atomic vibrations into the chemical elements as building blocks of our reality.

Other sources talk about the human body as a manifestation from a blueprint into matter, and suggest that this manifestation initially expresses itself via vibrations into water, the fundamental substance of all life on Earth. Starting from water in the form of bodily and cellular fluids, this manifestation develops as an ongoing process into more dense structures such as bound water in our connective tissues, and eventually into more and more rigid structures like organs, and eventually bones, teeth and hair.

In this workshop we will set up an experiment to explore if vibration and spoken word can actually influence the taste of water.

  • Joel Olivé, 1976 Barcelona, multi-instrumentalist musician, music therapist and luthier. I am a promoter and collaborator of music therapy workshops for the expansion of consciousness at international level, I work combining with research and studies of music with voice, overtone singing and archaic instruments, among them: the symphonic gong, the didgeridoo, the monochord, the bina and the tabla, and I am specialized in their application in therapy. I am the creator of most of the instruments I use in music therapy sessions, sound journeys and concerts. I have published numerous writings and articles about the instruments, as well as an extensive collection of musical works. available on Spotify (Joel Olivé) or Bandcamp (Enteoanima).

In the 90s I discovered the didgeridoo, an instrument that would progressively change my life and my musical passion. I began to deepen in the therapeutic aspects of Digeridoo, and together with Dr. Peter Hess (Germany), we created the Sound and Trance Institute, and we currently direct the international training of sound and trance states, STF - Sound TransFormation.

I am a professor of music therapy at the University of Girona, and I regularly offer seminars at the University of Arizona (School of Human Rights), where I teach how music and expanded states can benefit humanity. I am a regular collaborator of ICEERS (Barcelona), SÄPT (Switzerland) and the Integrative Transpersonal Institute (Barcelona). I also offer classes at: Instituto transpersonal Integrativo (Barcelona) and ONCA Psychedelic Therapy Training (Swiss/Colombia), and Beckley Med Global (England/Spain).

Among my albums, available at www.Enteoanima.Bandcamp.com, Spotify and ITunes, the following stand out: Enteoanima, with collaborations by Luis Paniagua, Byron Metcalf, among others, and also Gong Ritual (with Peter and Heike Hess) and Door to the Archaic, produced by Byron Metcalf.

Among my studies, I highlight the training in Music and Unconsciousness (Society of Applied Ethnopsychology), and the ECCS (European College of Counciousness Studies). I studied Fine Arts (Universitat de Barcelona), and I have a master degree in music therapy from the Blanquerna University.

    Estela Traver López, 1986, Barcelona.

I am passionate about exploring the states of being and accompanying others in their vital processes through sound and vibration.

Music, and especially singing, have been organically present in my life since the beginning. Singing has always been for me a gift from which to be able to harmonize, regulate and express the states of my being.

After a long trip through Latin America, where I came in contact with some traditional practices and worldviews of native peoples, that allowed me to experience higher states of consciousness. I began to understand some things about sound and vibration as a key to enter altered states of consciousness, as a tool for self- awarness and as a channel for a greater energy than ourselves. So I decided to deepen my studies and put structure in the path of sound through the Kuymin Path, the Integral Voice School (Voice Music Therapy) and Sound Trance Formation to be able to put it at the service of others.

I am guaridan in my heart and in my voice, of songs of native peoples and other sacred songs from different cultures on that path of preserving, remembering and reconnecting with the ancestry and divinity that we already are.

The Shamanic Journey: Its Psychedelic Aspects and its Ancient Technologies of the Soul

FARM HOUSE

11:45 Am - 1:15 pm

Experiential Workshop

  • Both psychedelic and shamanic experiences can cause profound shifts of consciousness. These shifts can result in psychospiritual growth, a broader sense of reality, expanded consciousness, and potentially mystical-type experiences. In this workshop the Co-facilitators will discuss these potential results from connecting to one’s soul, experiencing non-ordinary states of consciousness, and gaining access to the numinous. They will also explore the potential transformational and healing aspects of these experiences with proper integration.

Shamans work with a time-honored ancient technology of the soul, which is not only fitting for our modern world, it is arguably very needed. In this workshop you will experience a Shamanic Journey Circle. These Circles provide an opportunity to deepen your understanding of shamanism and strengthen your relationship with your Spirit Ally. This is done through inducing the shamanic state of consciousness and using the shamanic journey as a beneficial resource. This Circle will be a safe, supportive, and sacred space to practice shamanism together in a community setting. This Circle will be an opportunity to practice shamanic journeying to live drumming with two experienced shamanic teachers. It is also an opportunity to strengthen your shamanic practice and deepen your relationship with your Spirit Ally. You are invited to this spiritual container to participate in ceremonial drumming, ritual, prayers, shamanic journeys to live drumming, healing, and group sharing. This workshop will be conducted as a sacred ceremony.

Embodying the Psychedelic Experience – The body integrates the psychedelic experience invisible

Experiential Workshop

  • “Embodying the psychedelic experiences: the body integrates the invisible”

Grounding Body work for integration of psychedelic experiences

Integration of psychedelics experiences is linked on a first level to our connection to our body and presence.

The power of psychedelic experience can manifest itself with profound vitals transformations if we give a space to our inner process of “digestion” of the experience. Substances do not produce change, but our conscience of the process produces changes

Integration of psychedelic experience enables us to broaden our levels of consciousness in our daily life, maintaining the transformations we experimented in our “trip”. The possible ego death of such experiences needs to be anchored in a new configuration of the psique with the light of conscient processes of change.

Accompanying and integrating those changes opens the path of a reborn ego from love. Embodying and rooting our experience allow the regulation of the nervous system so we can give a special space and consolidated our changes in our daily life.

Our connection to our body is on a first step the key to integrate the material we navigated during our journey. It’s a form of attention to our process of embodiment, that ensures the living transformation of the information we gathered in our deep exploration.

“We are spiritual beings having a human experience” as said Teilhard de Chardin, so we need to care for our body and self-care is a crucial part to integrating any experience.

In this workshop, we will experience grounding body work based on bioenergetics, body consciousness and somatic movement. We will focus on our power of connection with mother earth and experiment different methods to deepen our perception of being present.

We will celebrate through dancing our power of being here and now, together as a community in touch with mother nature.

PAVILION ROOM

  • Feature Documentary by Andrea Lötscher, Germany, 2023

This feature documentary film by German filmmaker Andrea Lötscher highlights different core aspects of the work with expanded states of consciousness for individual, collective, and planetary transformation as developed by Regina U. Hess, Ph.D., Netherlands. By taking the audience right into the heart of a psilocybin- assisted truffle group ceremony, the film is not just a summary of the theoretical, research, and practice background of Regina U. Hess` approach but also offers the audience a taste of its numinous quality that may even be the key to its transformative potential.

A trauma expert for more than 30 years, Hess has developed a unique approach to multidimensional transformation for psychospiritual growth, combining ancient shamanic traditions with Western psychology and modern neuroscience, intertwined with Nature and art immersion to support individuals making their trauma conscious within an integrated process for psychospiritual self-development.

Regina U. Hess intertwines the overlooked dimension of pre-and perinatal trauma, including the impact at conception, during the prenatal phase, and the birth matrices. With her central thesis that trauma does not start with you – trauma starts long ago as a collective and historical phenomenon, she emphasizes the transgenerational aspect of trauma work as key to understanding the trauma patterns of our ancestors, mirrored through us. In transforming layers of blockages, often passed on over generations, the result can be an expansion of consciousness and the development of a conscious way of living and caring for oneself, others, the Greater Good, and Nature. The person’s ancestral gifts, talents, and potential can emerge more fully, supporting empowerment and blossoming.

To help access these deeply buried levels of consciousness, Hess integrates the plant medicine ally - psilocybin-containing truffles, legal in NL, in her guidance for individual, collective, and planetary transformation and awakening. The roots of the psilocybin mushroom ‘truffle’ can build a bridge to connect us with the vast wisdom field of mycelium as the largest living organism beneath the Earth and fungi consciousness. As psychedelic experiences have always been part of human development, their intentional application in safe settings can help us in this precarious moment in human history to move from egoism towards an intimate stewardship for a New Earth. Our capacities as a whole are infinitely greater than when we are separate tribes and nations for Birthing an Ancient Future—A Psilocybin Ceremony of Life. Ceremonies with psilocybin-containing truffles are legal for personal use in the Netherlands.

Psychedelic-assisted therapy has been stalled for years. But in the meantime, other approaches have emerged, notably Holotropic Breathwork or Grof Breathwork.

We have several decades of practice that can serve as a basis today for future therapists who accompany patients with psychedelics in countries where it is already legally possible and others who are preparing to accompany in many other countries ready to open or re-open to these new therapies.

The Human Archetypes may be healed by the natural restructuring of Ayahuasca Ceremonies.

In the Jungian Collective Unconscious frame, archetypes are the structuring factors of the individual psyche.

The quality of genuine condition has been deteriorating along millennia of human interactions, constricted by aggressive, fearful conditions of life.

Different social, cultural, and religious imposed rules and programs influenced the way those archetypes act from inside in influencing the structure of gender complexes and the Ego complex facing the world’s demands.

This complex and multilevel process is influencing the way femininity and masculinity are experienced in the real life of an individual.

In this context, the therapeutic impact of the DMT in ayahuasca ceremonies acts by re-establishing step by step the natural authentic influence of archetypal energy of anima and animus.

We will comment on the restructuring process in analytical work using some case materials of people experiencing ayahuasca ceremonies (dreams, painted images, etc.).

  • Hajo Mueller, Licensed Psychotherapist, Psychedelic-Augmented Therapy, Ovid Clinics, Berlin, Germany

Why is it that more than 90% of the discussion around psychedelics address only the acute effects of the many colorful compounds and hardly anyone speaks about the long-term process of integration? What responsibility has the psychedelic community in maximizing benefits from the consumption of these substances and minimizing harm? How can we help bridging the outstanding experiences made during psychedelic journeys to our everyday lives and how can we provide safe spaces for non-judgmental exchange?

In our hyper-individualized and -optimized society the use of psychedelics runs the risk of becoming just another tool to perform better or provide the next kicks for sensation-seekers. I want to highlight the potential that lies in the integration of psychedelic experiences for the way we can live more compassionate lives on this planet in alignment with our heart core values, not only towards ourselves but encompassing all sentient beings of past, present and future.

    BIO

Hajo Müller is a licensed psychotherapist and works at OVID Clinic Berlin providing psychedelic-augmented therapy. Prior to that he has gathered expertise with inpatient treatment for more than ten years, half of which he was lead therapist at an addiction department. In this field he has trained a number of psychotherapists through seminars and supervision and recently produced an instructional video on substance use disorders.

After his graduation in psychology he was working as consultant and trainer in Hamburg as well as lecturing at an University of Applied Sciences before starting his training in cognitive behavioral therapy in Berlin. Here he focused on third wave approaches, applying mindfulness techniques, Schema Therapy and ACT.

Apart from work he engaged in cultural, social and environmental activities, amongst others helping facilitate the annual World Student Environmental Summit in Germany and Sweden with delegations from about 50 countries or supporting social projects in India and Indonesia.

He is part of a Zen buddhist community in the Soto tradition, being a student in meditation and archery. Additionally he explored shamanic traditions from Mexico (Huichol), West Africa (Dagara) and central Europe.

Psychedelic medicines have their roots in centuries of ancestral knowledge of indigenous peoples, supported by the most modern clinical and neuroscience research. Psychedelic Assisted Therapy is called to be the great revolution in mental health in the immediate future.

We will discuss the advantages of a dynamic training program focused on the pathologies of our time, in line with the realities of the current global times and climate crisis, adjusting to the needs that are emerging at a collective level and at a time when there is an urgent demand for professionals specialized in new approaches to mental health.

Also will discuss the importance of the personal process and mental health of future psychedelic therapists and researchers. The reason why give special attention to the internal process of transformation of non-functional patterns. Why different aspects of the personality needs to be integrated in order to respond with complete integrity to the demands of patients.

The ultimate objective is to train professionals who can be active agents of change in favor of the health and wellbeing of people, in coherence and balance with social contexts and with the living ecosystems that support us.

Natural birth is for the future mother and also for the baby an event which allow to cross an expanded state of consciousness. Mother Nature, in her wisdom, prescribes different kind of birthing hormones that take us outside our usual state, so women can have an ecstatic birth. It is an experience of birth that transcends a normal state, a physical and spiritual transformation producing lasting sensations of joy, excitement, happiness and even an orgasm. Four major hormonal systems are active during labor and birth. These involve oxytocin, the hormone of love; endorphins, hormones of pleasure and transcendence; epinephrine and norepinephrine, hormones of excitement; and prolactin, the mothering hormone. Also, endorphins and even the psychedelic chemical DMT can be released.

For this we consider that a non-medicalized birth and the control of pain through different techniques are needed. This paper wants to demonstrate the role of pineal gland in producing endogenous psychedelics which generate the possibility to have an ecstatic birth.

  • Mariana Caixeiro

Clinical and Heath Psychologist, Social Anthropologist and Homeopath. Fertility &Procreative Heath Counsellor

Sex between a man and a woman is the point at which “thanatus and eros” (death and life, creation and destruction) merge, where self-destruction and self-creation intertwine, and the perpetuation of one’s identity is accomplished through another person. Before the days of condoms and birth-control pills, making a child was always a possible outcome of sex. Creation and Destruction are intimately connected. All life comes out from death. Even vegetarian animals destroy plant-life to survive and reproduce, and nothing needs to be said about carnivores like ourselves. For one to live, another must die. Sex creates life; life requires death. The birth represents creation and destruction/death as well.

In Modern societies where death and birth are pathologized and medicalised we are witnessing the repercussions of the birth trauma of the last generations that were born in hospitals without any taint of humanity and dignity.

The sexual act which fruit is a child is also the first sexual experience of the same child. It is the Primordial Scene. This Primordial Scene, the Primordial agony and the First Breath are epigenetics signatures very vulnerable to trauma creating blockages and diseases during the human development. The primordial agony of separations that comes with the expulsion from the birth canal has shown to be a generator of emotional issues during life and do to the medical procedures during birth the most part of new born babies are not filling theirs lungs to their capacity. Appropriate oxygenation in the first minutes of life stimulates brain, kidney, endocrine, and digestive function.

This paper wants to highlight the role of psychedelics in treating birth trauma allowing the entheogeneses opening the opportunity to go back to the soul essence and giving rise to personal transformation and the continual arise of divinity from within.

    BIO

She has been in private practice as a Clinical and Health psychologist/ psychotherapist since 1985 and as a homeopath since 2008. Homeopathy and psychotherapy merged in her approach to healing. The last few years she is dedicated to exploring the potential of using both entheogenic medicines and its homeopathic forms of remedy to treat “dis-eases” of human development and birth trauma.

Entre 1990 and 2005 she crossed the discipline frontiers and moved away from Psychology and embraced Anthropology that really broader and expanded her vision of medicine and health through experiencing other cultures with other forms of life, with their sciences, medicines and arts of keeping the human being healthy.

She lived in the city of Banaras, India for a couple of years where she studied in Banaras Hindu University, undertook ethnographic research on the attitude towards death, studied Sanskrit, and she was also introduced to Ayurvedic medicine, Homeopathy and Yoga philosophy with its human energy system. She practiced yoga and meditation. She also lived in Africa, where she experienced other worldviews as well as other ways of living life and understanding the human being, especially the child, the woman and the family.

Mariana holds a doctoral degree in Anthropology of Science from Universidad Complutense of Madrid and has published in scientific journals and daily newspapers and participated with entries in encyclopaedias. She also conducted conferences and lectures at various congresses, symposiums and other academic and scientific meeting.

Conception is our first ‘sexual’ experience and it follows us throughout our lives. Our experience of being conceived forms the base of who and how we are in our lives and all our relations.

When the entheogenic nature of conception, pregnancy, labor and birth remain intact, life and death also unfold in accordance.

Transcribing the living memories of our own birth, pre-birth, conception and pre-conception experiences escorts us back into right-relationship with Creation, restores our original blueprint, and allows us to cultivate humans with a maximum capacity for love.

    Those who grow never questioning…

Remembering the indigenous wisdom of birth inherent in every one our cells allows us to consciously participate as assistants in the midwifing of the ancient-future wisdom that is now incarnating on Earth.

Wisdom, Love, Prosperity, and Pure Potentiality are seated at the core of our genesis.

Integration of Psychedelic Experiences: Shadow Work and Self-Development

YURT

Experiential Workshop

  • Our intention is to explore and experience the paradoxes relating to psychedelics on a personal, interpersonal and global level. We seek to support trauma-informed psychedelic work. Thus we encourage attending to the possible manifestations of ‘spiritual bypassing’ and their dangers or downsides which are ever present.

Shadow aspects of psychedelic work are based on using wisdom of the earth or expanded state of consciousness of psychedelic work to bolster the ego and to increase material profit.

For example, the dangerous implications of co-opting of psychedelics into a biomechanical medical models. We seek to explore the balanced application of psychedelics to create an integrated and holistic health care system enabling us to take proactive responsibility as individuals within a community and wider network and part of this planet. .

Another shadow aspect of psychedelic work relates to strengthening the disconnection to our body and to the earth. The way we treat the earth is the way we treat our body, our home. If our core wound is in relation to our body then it will be difficult to truly come back from the psychedelic experience of infinity into the transient physical being and we may use psychedelics to stay ‘out’.

Both presenters are from a background where the splits in community make them very aware of the dangers of ‘othering’ and the consequent projection in the collective. On the one hand, there is hope that psychedelic work can contribute towards enhancing compassion and connection between people allowing unity in diversity. On the other hand, psychedelic experiences may be used by the ego to enhance the splitting of light and dark through the idealisation of our own motives and degradation of the other’s.

Acknowledging and working with our own traumas and embracing our shadow within the integration of psychedelic experiences makes us more capable of co creating a more loving and sustainable world.

This is an interactive lecture which involves exercises for self exploration.

This presentation reflects on therapeutic and intercultural perspectives of the use of ayahuasca, psilocybin mushrooms and other natural psychedelic compounds in the treatment of mental health challenges.

Anja Loizaga-Velder will share a synthesis of two decades of her observational research related to therapeutic use of entheogens for the treatment of mental health challenges, as well as experiences gathered as psychotherapist accompanying patients in the preparation for and integration of experiences with diverse natural psychedelic compounds in intercultural therapeutic settings. Transdiagnostic therapeutic mechanisms of well-guided plant medicine experiences will be explored that facilitate psychotherapeutic change in conditions such as substance use disorders, eating disorders, depression, difficult grief or trauma. Finally also the shadow side of the use of psychedelic plants will be addressed, reflecting on experiences from psychotherapeutic work with patients who have been adversely affected by inappropriate use of entheogens , shedding light on the importance of well structured and supportive contexts in the work with these compounds , as well as adequate support for integration.

My intention is to explore and develop on the value of ancestral lineages and transmissions imbedded in a modern approach of transpersonal psychology. From my perspective, the relationship between healing and awakening is a fundamental aspect of any Transpersonal approach. Without engaging on a healing journey, awakening lacks a good fertile soil to be fully integrated in a harmonious flow of presence. Without a complete path of awakening rooted in our true nature and supported by the power of ancestral lineage and transmission, seeking healing, whether through modern psychotherapy or sacred plant medicines, will not be enough to totally free oneself from suffering, and it could even create identifications which can become major obstacles on the path of liberation. Our ancestors have done a great endeavor in preserving, through uninterrupted lineage, the transmission of the "inner treasure map" for realizing our true nature. It's also deeply embedded in the nature around us, infused in the plants and the animals and the mountains and the oceans, all there to support us in recognizing our primordial state. There is an underlying intelligence in nature which is communicating with us, whispering our names back home. I refer to this as the evolutionary Mycelium of our ancestors guiding us in the birth of an Ancient Future rooted in a harmonious state of presence. It is alive and it is growing also through the Transpersonal movement into society, as we bring all of the pieces of the puzzle together.

Marc-Antoine Masri has a rather original background, with Masters degree in International Business, while deepening interest in psychology, quantum physics, altered states of consciousness, plants and natural medicine, anthropology/ethnology and the ancestral traditions from around the world. Very inspired by the works of Carl Jung and Stanislav Grof, in parallel to his master's degree he trained in Grof Holotropic Breathwork with the IRETT (currently CesHum), cultivating knowledge of transpersonal psychotherapy which he continues to learn as part of a certified international training with the I.I.B.P.

Guided by life and plants, he traveled extensively and is initiated in Amazonian, Andean, Tibetan, Huichol, Mayan, Bwiti, Sufi, and Hindu lineages among the main ones. His main practice is the cultivation of instant Presence of Awareness as transmitted through the Dzogchen teachings by Rigzin Chögyal Namkhai Norbu. He is fascinated by the healing power of breath, sound, and dance, and his heart calls to share their medicine through transformational gatherings. Also trained in Tibetan Kunye massage and the foundation of Tibetan medicine with Menpa Phuntsog Wangmo, as well as healing through ancestral sounds with Tito la Rosa.

He has been collaborating since 2018 in the creation of the Tribal Gathering festival in Panama, which brings together over 60 indigenous tribes from around the world each year. Currently youngest board member of EUROTAS, the global transpersonal network (www.eurotas.world), he is committed to rekindle humanity’s connection with Mother Earth’s flow of harmony through developing a grounded Transpersonal vision rooted in ancestral wisdom.

Ayahuasca Insightfulness explores the perceived attainment of knowledge during or as a product of ayahuasca experiences: in other words, its noetic qualities.

It analyses anonymous “trip reports”; using narrative research and qualitative analysis software to determine the types of knowledge attained. The main types of insights examined relate first, to personal insights and self-understanding and second to metaphysical and philosophical ideations.

Being sensitive to the cultural setting of the accounts allowed the research to contextualize the meaning-making processes of the practitioners involved as highly dependent on their cultural background. This meant the claims of knowledge were not of a universal order but rather a product of complex cultural dialogue. Hence the project engaged in broadening the classic psychedelic notion of “setting” to include cultural dynamics in tandem with environmental factors.

On a philosophical side, Ayahuasca Insightfulness explores how psychedelic claims of knowledge are separate from factual truths, and yet valuable for the practitioners involved.

This allows discussing the contrast between claiming the vision’s content is factually correct and claiming the visions acquire important meaning for those who partake in the brew.

    BIO

Paloma David is the Board Secretary of the Amsterdam Psychedelic Research Association, APRA. Originally from Colombia, she is a cultural anthropologist with a strong interest in psychedelic research. She holds a Research Master's in Religious Studies from the University of Amsterdam, where she conducted fieldwork research on the contemporary uses of Ayahuasca in different settings. Paloma completed her training in psychedelic therapy and integration with Psychedelics Today (VITAL) and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Radboud University in Nijmegen, under the research project "Shifting Perceptions of Ayahuasca in and from Latin America." Her interest focuses on the therapeutic use of psychedelics, their current use in Europe and Latin America, and the social and cultural implications of their use.

  • Hidde Hilton, Vista Plus – Psilocybin Mircodosing Programs and Research, Netherlands

Hidde has been passionately researching health, nutrition and alternative means of medicine and healing for the past decade. With a special interest in the self healing abilities of the body and the connection between body and mind. He has a background working as a massage therapist and has been practicing meditation, breathwork and martial arts for many years. After breaking his neck in an accident and experiencing months of recovery, his passion for plant medicine was ignited.

Working both as a holistic integration practitioner and as a psychedelic guide in ceremonies, Hidde assist individuals on their personal journeys to gain more understanding into mental-, emotional- and physical wellbeing, spiritual growth and self-acceptance.

The motivation to create non-profit research foundation VistaPlus stems from his own experience with psychedelics when he broke his neck in an accident in 2018. During the rehabilitation process Hidde subsequently became depressed and recovered with the help of microdosing. Not much later the idea arose to personally assist others to learn how to work with the transformative potential of psilocybin in a responsible and accessible way. The mission of the foundation is to bridge the gap between the understanding of the physical and the non-physical, and to help people reconnect with themselves and nature, reconnecting individuals with their innate self-healing abilities.

“After breaking my neck in an accident, having spent months in recovery and feeling depressed as a result, I found microdosing to be a huge catalyst in my healing process, both mental and physical. This journey invited me to dive even deeper into the healing potential of plant medicine and inspired me to work professionally with psychedelics. Having worked with clients in this capacity since early 2019, I have been reaching out to people to help them heal themselves but also to create awareness around the potential that psychedelics have to change our lives and society for the better.

Besides my work as a massage therapist and my personal interest and experiences in psychology and expanded states of consciousness, I am truly fascinated by the connection between mind and body; how our thoughts and emotions can affect our physiology. When I experienced this personally during my own recovery, psychedelics proved to be a catalyst in my recovery.

Over the past four years I have learned a lot, assisting over 500 people with coaching and guidance and many remarkable results and profound insights have been gained by both the participants as myself. I’m passionate to contribute to the “psychedelic renaissance” and love to develop- and be at service in this field, and to gain new perspectives on the implementation of mind altering substances.

I believe this also depends on how respectful we work with these substances, and with what kind of integrity and intentions we use them. My mission is to shift the approach to healing to a more holistic approach; bridging the gap between the physical and the non-physical and to reconnect with ourselves and nature. It is truly a privilege to contribute- and assist others in this process of re-connecting and self-exploration, and to gain more understanding about personal transformation.

  • Nir Tadmor, M.A., Israel, Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration, Safe Shore

Psychospiritual crises, whether triggered by psychedelics, meditation or any other means, can shatter our everyday ego and catapult us into long periods of mental, emotional, interpersonal and spiritual difficulties. These deeply transformative periods, when properly supported, can lead to healing and growth and as Stan Grof emphasised, even serve an important evolutionary role. When the community and therapists of the person are not aware of the potential of these non ordinary states, these crises may sadly turn into a deeply traumatic experience. During this talk we are going to explore a few cases of psychedelic crises and spiritual emergencies that I had the privilege to support as a transpersonal psychotherapist in my clinic and during my work as a psychedelic harm reduction specialist in parties and festivals.

    Bio:

I am a transpersonal psychotherapist in private practice, co-founder of Safe Shore - a psychedelic education, harm reduction and director of education in Impulse - an integrative psychotherapy center based in Israel. I hold a Master’s in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology from Middlesex University (through the Alef Trust) and trained in Hakomi body-centered psychotherapy. I am also a co-researcher in the Neurophenomenological lab in Haifa University, where I am in charge of phenomenological interviews in two psychedelic studies: one about Ayahuasca and death perception and one about Psilocybin mushrooms and ego dissolution. For my Master’s thesis I conducted a phenomenological study about the psychedelic integration process that unfolds in the lives of Western mental health professionals who use psychedelics for personal and professional growth and I currently serve as an advisor to the Israeli government’s Special Committee for the Fight Against the Damages of Drugs and Alcohol. My private practice is based in Israel where I provide support for people who deal with a wide range of issues, many of them interested in integrating their psychedelic experiences as a part of the psychotherapeutic process. During the last 6 years, I worked as a mental health guide in various psychiatric- hospitalization alternatives, supported hundreds of psychedelic crises in parties and festivals and trained more than 1000 psychedelic harm reduction sitters through Safe Shore’s Holding Space workshop in Israel, the UK, The Netherland and Estonia.

Bridging Indigenous Knowledges, Transpersonal Psychology, and Modern Psychedelic Science

Moderated by EUREKA Eurotas Department of Ethnologic Knowledge and Anthropology and Award of the first EUREKA Transcultural Contribution Prize

  • James Fadiman, Ph.D

    Abstract

Psychedelics and Transpersonal Psychology. A time to celebrate and flourish. Each kept a public distance from the other to be more respectable. Time to acknowledge common roots and a common future. This is the moment to develop ways to help one another make a better future for humanity.

    BIO

James Fadiman was one of the founders of Transpersonal Psychology, was the second president of the association, and has been stayed involved on the journal’s editorial board. He earned his BA from Harvard and his Ph.D. from Stanford and has held a variety of teaching, consulting training, counseling, and editorial positions. He has served on for-profit and non-profit companies and taught in psychology departments and design engineering. He has published textbooks, professional books, a self-help book, a novel, and a series of videos, Drugs: the children are choosing, for National Public Television. He has been involved in psychedelic research for over sixty years, the last decade uncovering and reporting on the multiple uses of microdosing. His book, The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide: Safe, Therapeutic and Sacred Journeys, was written to help individuals benefit from high-dose guided trips and introduced the first mention of microdosing; he is currently writing a book, All about Microdosing, to clarify and consolidate the new uses and methods emerging worldwide.

As a child, my dream was to “water the desert”, then I realized that “the desert is the human brain!”

This theme has accompanied me throughout my entire life, from my childhood dream, to my meeting with Bart Huges in 1966 and his hypothesis on the critical role of brain blood distribution in expanded states of consciousness, all the way through to my most recent programme of research using cutting edge neuroscience tools to finally bring to light the impact of psychedelics on the vascular system and its clinical implications, particularly for age-related disorders.

    BIO

Amanda Feilding is the Founder and Executive Director of the Beckley Foundation, a UK-based think-tank and NGO, founded in 1998. With more than 50 years of experience pioneering global drug policy reform and scientific research in consciousness and psychoactive substances, Amanda is widely recognised as the ‘Hidden Hand’ behind the Psychedelic Renaissance.

Amanda has personally co-authored over 80 peer-reviewed scientific publications on psychoactive substances, many with ground-breaking results, such as the world’s first LSD brain-imaging study, and the first clinical trial into psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy for treatment-resistant depression, which had remarkably beneficial results. To honour her contributions to science, she recently received the Science Pioneer Award at the WEDO awards ceremony held at the United Nations.

Called the ‘Queen of Psychedelics’ by the Economist Magazine, Amanda’s contribution has been pivotal in bridging the gap between science and policy, with the aim of building and harnessing our knowledge of the benefits of currently prohibited compounds to optimise human health, wellbeing and potential.

  • David Luke, Ph.D., UK

This talk will explore a quiet and emerging ontological revolution in the current psychedelic research renaissance through psychedelic-induced nature connection, interspecies transformations and communication, perspectivism, metaphysical belief shifts and increased ascription of sentience to the non-human world. Such experiences and their implications for creative problem-solving, psychiatry, and the ecological crisis indicate how becoming more indigenous through psychedelics has potent potential for positive change.

Therapeutic method based on ancestral techniques and traditional medicines from different cultures and ethnic groups and which is applied mainly to the general population, both for therapeutic purposes and for personal growth.

The original sources come from the Mexico of the shamans, specifically Mazatec specialists in treatments with various plants.

The expansion of consciousness is a crucial tool for the process of opening and transformation leading, if not facilitating the resolution of adjacent conflicts.

There is a wide variety of psychotechnologies designed for this purpose, it can be said that practically all cultures use some of them, from meditation to breathing through the use of plants and rituals.

In this context, the figure of the therapist or facilitator of the transformation process is essential. This figure possesses and/or must possess a series of aptitudes and attitudes that will make him or her a suitable professional for such a task. The formation and training of this figure is the second of the tasks of the Ethnotherapy applied to the ESC.

Visions beyond the veil

  • I like to think of the creative process as the journey of an explorer. Every art work is a new discovery of some place or atmosphere. I also find these realms accessible through dreams, meditation and the use of psychedelics. They embody powerful tools to mediate between the world within and the reality we inhabit as humans.

By making these worlds visible, immersive and as detailed as possible, an experience of transcendence is achieved, elevating the viewer from the material reality into an altered state of consciousness. I believe these states can lead to important insights through which we are able to reflect on our own mortal existence, relationship with nature and conscious evolution as humans. My vision is that art, music, psychedelics, and contemporary rituals are going to be the bedrock of a new, emerging civilization

Visions of Realms Beyond

  • I have been a psychotherapist and an artist for the largest part of my life. My own transformation, my insights and ideas have always found their way into matter through my artworks, be it painting of sculpting.

In recent years, I have been looking for a new means of expression, that would allow me to share my visions with more and more people. I found it in the combination of collage and digital art.

The images that are created though me come from transpersonal states of consciousness.  In each of them appear an image of the feminine, is an homage to woman, especially mother earth, the female source from where we all came from.

These images are in deep connection with the woman soul wounding that is a result of patriarchy and with the awareness that is life on earth the one that is challenged and is at stake since the moment we lost the sacred way our connection with the source. And perhaps our survival as a species depends on the connection with the sacred feminine.

As Sri Aurobindo says: “if there is to be a future, wear a crown of feminine design”.

They emerge from the deep search of myself, the transformation of what I was to reach what could potentially be and beyond myself reach the whole, the universe, the cosmos and integrate in my polarities because if I am in full contact with my femininity therefore I give the total welcome to the masculine in me.

The images I have used them in therapy and group process contexts, and many people experienced that they can enhance awareness and can open doors to vision. They can also be used to induce meditational states and stimulate dreaming.
